Rain Against the Windshield & Soft Hands on My Feet

Before I even begin the real blog...

I've been having these dreams with babies. Usually my baby. Is this my maternal clock ticking? I'm only 25!!

Moving on.

When I was in college I met this guy who every time I would pass by him he would call me Twinkle because of my eyes (introduce Twinkle). Cheesy I know. We didn't know each others name for a while, I would just call him Twinkle back.

We would chit chat in the hallway every so often. We ended up having a class together and ended up exchanging info through there, originally for school purposes.

When the semester was over he asked me out on a date. We went out, he was a gentleman but nothing was really there for me.

I learned it was a different story for him.

Looking through my phone book I was erasing numbers of people I didn't really talk to (I was bored). I saw his name and wondered how he was. We hadn't spoken in about 3 years. He was pleasantly surprised to hear from me, he is now an NYPD officer- loves his job, and is still in the military (now reserves) and has a tour in Iraq in 2010. He asked me if we could hang out...

I wouldn't be writing this blog if I didn't agree.

I get dressed thinking this is a casual meeting. He comes to pick me up in jeans, a button down, a blazer, and shoes. This has NEVER happened to me. I complimented him and asked him for 5 more minutes for me to slip into something a little more formal.

I take the huge flower arrangement he has in his hands for me (note: I've been seeing Fitness since January and have yet to receive flowers- and he knows I like them). He then hands me a Entenmanns pound cake and tells me "that's for your mother"... LMFAO. Yes, I laughed in his face but he laughed too, obviously he did it to be funny. We have pound cake in my house if anyone is craving some. Thanks Twinkle.

It is raining out so his original plans went to shit. We are sitting in his car, he knows I'm not big on drinking but asks me if I want to go to a wine bar to kill some time until dinner time arrives. As I've gotten older, I need to do what adults do if I want to find myself a MAN. We are out to the wine bar.

I don't know shit about wine and I do not have a true appreciation for it. I don't enjoy it, but I know I can tolerate dessert wine. He orders a glass of the same wine for us both, and we start drinking. We had two glasses each, needless to say- I was a little "happy".

We stop by a radio shack to pick up a cord to connect the ipod to his car so that we can listen to the kind of music I like.

Point Gainers:
  1. Flowers check
  2. Pound cake for mom check
  3. Ordering the kind of wine I drink check
  4. Opening doors check
  5. My music check check check (I mean I would have been fine without it, it wasn't like we were on a road trip)

He reads erotic literature and has a lot of insight in what to do right to make a woman happy. I read a passage from one of those things he reads online and I swear it should be a MUST read for all men with no clue.

We get to 79th and Park and he asks me if I mind if we stop by this building he used to work in as a door man when he was younger. I don't mind, we go in and he starts talking to the workers in the most correct Spanish. Very Argentinian (he is Puerto Rican). They all compliment the pretty lady he is with (that would be me :-D ). We make our way further into the building and stop by an elevator to say hello to the operator. I notice its a manual elevator, where the operator has to close the door himself. They notice I keep looking at the elevator and they let me operate it!

Hello, my name is In My World I Rock and I am your elevator operator.

Add that to my resume. Able to operate an elevator built in 1929.

We get to the restaurant and have to wait 15 minutes for our table. While we wait I compliment him on his choice of restaurant- the dim lighting made it very romantic. We start reading an article on the wall that was in the newspaper about the restaurant and its a VEGETARIAN restaurant.

Holy shit he remembered from 3 years ago! Add that to the cool points.
Candle 79 on 79th street in Manhattan for any vegetarians looking for a nice restaurant.

After a huge meal (apps, salads, entrees, wine, and dessert which I hardly ate) we are off to do some dancing. Man does he know me. Flowers, Vegetarian food, and dancing. YES!

We danced for about an hour and then headed off to a bar to meet up with my little sister.

He has a foot fetish and thinks I have nice feet. We were in his car after the bar, he started to rub my feet. The sound of the rain against his windshield and the soft hands on my feet put me in a very tranquil place...

Then he sucked my toes.

You make of that what you want. I can't knock a guy, some guy like breasts, others like legs, he likes toes.

It made for a good date. I had a good time, but that's as far as this is going.

He kissed my Greek Salad Breath

Pang (OS) and I have been going to a lot of salsa events lately. We are associates of the promoter, through Pangs sorority sister.

One night, at one of these events, I notice this bald short guy with a suit and a nice smile standing and having a conversation with the promoter. I noticed him because I caught him looking at me with a smile.

Pang and I were walking out and Omega came on. I walked right back in and Pang followed.

I started to dance with the promoter and the guy who we will call Salsero made a comment about my dancing. The promoter knew what was going on and spun me into Salseros arms. We had a blast dancing, we exchanged a few words and that was that.

I saw him at a few other events where we began to dance with each other a little more each time.

At one of these events we exchanged numbers.

He is from Curacao. He speaks 4 languages. Spanish (which he speaks very well and learned it from watching TV and decided to take some courses), English, whatever the name of the language in Curacao is (he told me but I forgot), Dutch, and he just took some French courses so he wouldn't count that as a language he speaks just yet. I must say, pretty impressive.

He has been trying to make plans for a while now and I just never let it happen because there is an attraction there. I know this from the flirtation on the dance floor.

Finally I cave but decide that we will go to dance just him and I. We went to a Salsa social. We danced just about every song together, I sweated any water weight off. When it was time for me to go, he stopped my cab and gave me a very sensual closed mouth kiss on the lips.

This happened about two weeks ago.

Today I went to lunch with him to Chocolate by the Bald Man MAX BRENNER.

Conversation at the table was very interesting. We spoke about our work history. We are both currently unemployed. Go figure. He said he has worked the past 4 yrs at a job where he had no life. He worked 7 days a week until 10 at night. He made good money but he had no time for himself. The company he worked for was in financial trouble. He stayed mainly because his best friend worked there and they shared a responsibility. Once they let his friend go he put in his resignation. They didn't want him to leave so they made him a deal where he would stay for a few extra months. He said after that he wasn't going to work for 5 months and was going to enjoy himself, take all sorts of classes he's been wanting to take (salsa and french).

We spoke about our family history. His dad is a magician. He is an only child from that marriage. His dads family is Dutch and his moms side is from Curacao.

We flirted a little.

He paid me many compliments.

Held my hand.

We spoke about the rarity of him dating someone he meets at these Salsa parties because that's his haven, and in case something goes bad he doesn't want negative energy at these events because the same people go to these all the time.

We then walked over to Barnes & Noble where we made out like teenagers with my breath smelling like onions from the Greek Salad I had (he said he didn't mind, I chewed half a pack of stride after). Ok maybe not like teenagers but we made out a few times in public, which is something I usually DON'T DO!

Needless to say... I'm being bad. This will probably not be the last blog you will read about him.

Cap on Phone Calls at 25

I haven't felt much like blogging lately...

In my last post, my cousin THAT GIRL asked me why am I still talking to my Ex Fiance.

The Answer: The same reason she still talks to NOTtheOne and the same reason the majority of the female population talk to their ex's even though they know they shouldn't... I DON'T KNOW!

Which leads me to my next topic- I hung out with the Ex Fiance yesterday and it just reminded me of why I fell for him to begin with. It is a thing of comfort I suppose. I can be my true self with him and not worry about a thing. Inside jokes, passing gas, all that good stuff. If the guy wasn't such a damn liar. UGH. Needless to say- we held hands and kissed. It felt great.

You guys are probably wondering "what about Fitness? Poor thing". POOR THING NOTHING! He and I haven't been in the best of terms, not that that is any excuse...

BUT... the blog is called LET ME TELL YOU MY SIDE, because in this blog... my side is what matters.

As you get to know someone, their true colors come out. Fitness has a strong personality and so do I. When we disagree we have the ability to talk without raising our voice but he will not back down and then get's a little cold and somewhat of an attitude and then when I adress him about it he calms down and acts like he didn't have an attitude to begin with.

Keep in mind the following pionts before I tell you this story:

  1. I live in the city, I take the train.

  2. I check my voicemail about 3 times a month. (Text me if you want me to get back to you).

  3. I rarely pick up the phone when I am at a table eating.

  4. Fitness is a personal trainer, and each of his appointments start at _:00 on the dot.

Got that? Cool.

I went downtown to meet up with the Ex Fiance and have lunch. Fitness knows this. Didn't have a problem with it. When I get out of the train I see I have a voicemail. I don't check it.

The Ex Fiance and I are ordering a quick meal at Pax and I receive a phone call from my little sister and my best friend... We kind of give each other this look and I put my phone on silent. We sit down to eat...

When we are walking to the Macy's after lunch I remember that I had put my phone on silent. I take it out of my purse to put it on normal, and see I have a missed call from Fitness along with a text stating that he has called me twice. I send him a text back because I know he was at work saying "sorry, I was at lunch". I didn't call him back BECAUSE I KNOW HE WAS AT WORK.

I come home and as I am getting out of the train I get another text saying that he called me again, I can kind of tell he is a little bothered. I text him "I just got out of the train". I immediately get a call from a bothered Fitness.

His arguement, he called me three times and hasn't been able to contact me.

My arguement, I got one of those three phone calls because twice he called while I was on the train. He knows I don't check my voicemail so if he wanted me to call him back like he said in the voicemail he left he would have mentioned it in the text he left when he told me he called. I didn't call back because everytime I noticed it was already passed the whatever o clock, he could have been with a client. Usually he calls me when he has some free time. Plus, it was only 5 o clock. He got out of work at 9, he is getting pissed as if he hasn't spoken to me for an entire day, he would have received a call at 9 when I knew he got out of work.

At the end of the conversation he tells me to call him later. I tell him to call me when he gets home from work, once he finishes unwinding.

He says "I called you enough today"

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME.

FML?

I rarely have FML moments. I usually shed the tears I have to and then look at the things I have to smile about.
Here are some of my FML moments:
  • I didn't get into the academy. There is a hiring freeze. Thanks Bloomberg.
  • Ex Fiance has been the one making me smile (via telephone) through all of this. Fitness has been too busy being sensative.
  • I've had a craving to see El Difunto after my girls saw him at south beach. Shout out to my cousin THAT GIRL who immediately called me when she spotted him out.
  • Fitness has moved back to his parents house. Which is a tiny two bedroom apartment. His mom has one room, his sister the other, and the father the livingroom. I see lack of sex in my immediate near future. Or atleast lack of sex with him.

Word. I need to find myself a Spoilmerottenguy like Dizzy.
